CAP eCC Agile Release is scheduled for December 2013

Boston, MA - It was announced today that the College of American Pathologists (CAP) has scheduled a CAP eCC Agile release for December 2013. This release reflects changes to current electronic Cancer Checklists (eCC) that pathologists use to report on cancer cases. The release will also feature two new templates to aid pathologists in recording their findings.

From CAP:

A CAP eCC Agile Release is scheduled for December 2013. The release plans to include 2 updated and 2 new eCC templates. The updated templates are Breast Invasive and Breast DCIS. The 2 new templates are Breast Biomarker and Uterine Sarcoma. The new eCC templates are based upon the new CAP Cancer Protocol for Uterine Sarcoma and the new CAP Biomarker Template for Breast, which have been vetted by CAP review panels, a public comment period, and the Pathology Electronic Reporting (PERT) Committee.

The new and updated CAP Cancer Protocols and the new Breast Biomarker Template will be available on the CAP website (www.cap.org/cancerprotocols) concurrent with the eCC release.

The new Breast Biomarker Template reflects the changes in the latest ASCO-CAP HER2 Guidelines, which were updated on October 7, 2013. The Ancillary Studies sections of the Breast Invasive and Breast DCIS eCC templates will be removed in this release, as this information will now be collected in the new Breast Biomarker template.

We look forward to answering any questions you may have regarding the upcoming release. Please direct your comments to capecc@cap.org.

These changes will be efficiently deployed for users of the recently announced eFRM product created by CAP and mTuitive to ensure that users are as current on CAP eCCs as possible.

As always, mTuitive will have these updates and new checklists incorporated into xPert for Pathology product as soon as possible. By keeping up with these updates, mTuitive ensures that your facility will remain CAP compliant and your cancer program will remain accredited by the American College of Surgeons' Committee on Cancer.
