mTuitive Licenses xPert for Pathology to Johns Hopkins Medicine

mTuitive's Solution Chosen to Meet Johns Hopkins Medicine's Structured Reporting Needs

Boston, MA - mTuitive, Inc. announced today that they have licensed xPert for Pathology to Johns Hopkins Medicine to report cancer findings and reduce transcription of cancer cases. xPert for Pathology is a workstation that surgical pathologists and their departments use for synoptic reporting and structured data capture. The system provides expert guidance and error checks based on standard, best-of-breed or homegrown protocols.

mTuitive complies with the 2010 CAP/CS aligned data standard developed by Cancer Care Ontario in conjunction with the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Cancer Committee, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Joint Committee on Cancer. The CAP checklists for breast, lung, colorectal, prostate and endometrium were amended to include the mandatory pathologic collaborative staging elements.

"To say that we are proud to be working with Johns Hopkins would be a gross understatement," said John Murphy, CEO of mTuitive, Inc. "We are humbled by the opportunity to work with some of the greatest minds in the field of pathology medicine. The pathology team at Johns Hopkins is driving advances in our product that we had not imagined."

Other mTuitive products licensed to Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM) include:

  • mTuitive's Agile Author to build JHM's proprietary checklists into xPert applications.
  • mTuitive is currently developing a bi-directional interface between xPert for Pathology and PDS (Johns Hopkins Medicine’s proprietary pathology information system).
  • mTuitive and JHM are co-developing a speech-powered large gross description application to further reduce transcription.

Standardized pathology reporting increases the availability and consistency of cancer pathology information that is essential for treatment decisions, evaluation, and research. mTuitive's xPert for Pathology interfaces with all available Pathology and Laboratory Information Systems on the market which lends itself to wide use throughout the world.
